Gastric Emphysema -A Quick Pic

A recent image (available online only N Engl J Med 2014; 370:e33) shows a clearcut case of gastric emphysema and the narrative explains the differential diagnosis:

“The differential diagnosis included infection, ischemia, and gastric-outlet obstruction due to volvulus, annular pancreas, intestinal malrotation, and duodenal hematoma or stenosis. Laparotomy revealed diffuse gastric and omental emphysema resulting from duodenal stenosis.”
